The Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem kit contains the USB modem with USB cable built-on to the chassis, an RJ-11 telephone cable, a software CD, as well as the filters required for other devices on the same telephone line. The Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem does not have a separate power source - it draws its power from your computer via the USB cable.

The pigtail is the bulge in the USB cable that is connected to the chassis of the modem. It has a phone jack built into it to insert the RJ-11 telephone cable. The opposite end of the RJ-11 cable must then be plugged into a wall jack for the telephone line carrying the High Speed Edition™. Don't forget to add filters any other telephone devices on the same phone line.
